Cicada Killer Season

I believe I saw my first Eastern Cicada Killer (Sphecius speciosus) of the season today. So, in honor of this recent sighting, I post this drawing of a helpless little cicada staring fate in the face. I do believe I was mistaken, but the time for their emergence is nigh. Cicadas beware, for your days may end like this one's.

My Tangent is Finished

My Final entry to the CG Society Dreamscape Challenge has been uploaded!

The image on the actual site is gigantic, but I have included a thumbnail version here.

I am happy to be done and am glad I did it.

The whole process was enjoyable. I began with an under painting in photoshop, using the iconic image of Freud as a reference. I then, with the help of a handful of Krueger references, "kruegerized" Freud, resulting in the visual pun.

The challenge closes March 2. I decided to join in a few weeks ago (the dates run from Nov. 22, 2010 to March 2, 2011) and have been treating this as a "speed challenge". I think I would like to get in the habit of joining these on a regular basis.

A lovely walk in the park results in an unfortunate instance of revenge. One must always be aware what is said and who might be listening.

Fiber Cleanse

The idea came to me one day as I was running the garbage disposal. I think of this as my look into child psychology. Here, this little girl sees that the sink is plugged up. She knows that a good fiber-rich diet helps to keep a person's plumbing regular. Naturally, she concludes that fiber must do the same for the sink.

The General
